Jeanette is recovering well. They took the IVs out of her today, and she’s probably two or three days from being discharged. She’s quite sore, and will be forced to wear her colostomy bag for six months (yes, months. geez.) We’re going to have to unlearn and relearn lots of stuff, and I have to get a bedroom ready for her on the first floor.

She’s had lots of well-wishes, calls, and visitors, keeping her spirits up. And Winchester Medical Center has been absolutely fabulous to us, and many of the nurses in particular have been completely wonderful. I look forward to getting the call saying my wife’s been discharged and can come home again, but it’s very reassuring to know she’s in such excellent hands.
