In computing, the implementation of a computer (usually networked) as a media device, including:

  • network attached storage for music, movies, videos, and photos
  • a TV tuner to watch and record TV
  • a wireless keyboard, or other remote, for controlling the PC
  • a TV-based (ie., low res, big fonts) interface for getting at your stuff
  • some sort of software to hold the whole thing together.
