There are plenty of people playing professional football this weekend who have been convicted of or pled guilty to crimes like beating up women. No one bats an eye. No one is marching on a stadium. You won’t hear it mentioned. That won’t be part of the discussion in the NFL on Sunday. Everyone will be talking about Michael Vick; no one will be talking about any of the players who have beaten up women. Now, I’m not going to sit here and compare the two crimes. I’m not going to tell you one is worse than the other. But, I am going to tell you that there is certainly no way you can argue they are so disproportionate that Michael Vick’s crime is worthy of 24 consecutive hours of coverage, and beating up a woman is not worth a sentence. Not a word, not a paragraph, not a phrase, not a syllable. If you want to make that argument with me, I’m sitting right here.
