“Opting out” seems to be a real problem these days. We’re getting a lot of calls recently from teachers who are upset because a parent wants to “opt-out” their kid from learning evolution. So the kid’s supposed to go down the hall and have an alternative assignment or something like that. And, you know, the teacher’s “How do you give an alternative assignment?” This is sort of like, “What’s the alternative assignment to long division?” I mean, this is just something you have to learn.
