Conservative radio host Erich “Mancow” Muller has been saying that waterboarding is not torture, and to prove it, he decided to subject himself to it. The result? Muller lasted six seconds before stoping the stunt.
Remember that last year atheist and skeptic celebrity Christopher Hitchens set out to prove the same thing by and also had his tune changed. We’ve also seen Jesse Ventura , himself having been waterboarded as part of his military training, saying that there’s no way it’s not torture.
So, we know that the USA waterboarded “enemy combatants.” And, at least as far as I’ve seen reported, 100% of the people who have been through the procedure say, yes, waterboarding is torture. How many more of these stories do we need to see? More and more we see more and more evidence that the United States of America stooped to the level of torture. Let’s leave the question of what to do about it for another time — when can we simply admit the current facts?
