Christopher Hitchens is a polarizing figure, even for me. On the one hand, he’s a true skeptic and critical thinker. On the other hand, he says some pretty dumbass things from time to time. He has repeatedly said that the waterboarding technique did not constitute torture.

To prove his point, he decided to be waterboarded himself, to see how long he lasted.

His verdict?

If waterboarding does not constitute torture, then there is no such thing as torture.
