While I think any webmaster worthy of the title has known this for at least three years now, it doesn’t matter how good tools like Dreamweaver get, they are a dead end.
Web 2.0 isn’t an empty slogan, it marks a fundamental break with the past and Dreamweaver lies on the wrong side of it.
Having myself just returned from , it’s hardly earth-shattering to me that the future of the web has nothing to do with static pages. There are just too many things that content management frameworks give you that are impossible or just too difficult to do with the old set of tools, even for the old set of ‘brochure’-type websites.
