Some WalMarts have “back to school” lists in their stores. In the past, the stores have had lists from the schools themselves, until someone somewhere realized that they come very close to being illegal (a “free” education does, in fact, mean that you shouldn’t have to buy supplies, which is how they were presented). So how can Wally put the lists back in their stores? They just made them up. In fact, the lists include some materials that are either frowned upon or outright banned by some schools. Obviously, some parents are upset. Wally could not be reached for comment, because, let’s face it, he doesn’t give a damn.
