Jeanette is now recovering from her surgery at Winchester Medical Center that she had this morning. The procedure, known as “Hartmann’s Reversal,” began at 8:00 this morning and lasted for approximately five hours. Following two more hours in recovery, I got to see her for a bit before I started for home. Our day started at 3:00 this morning, and, for me, will be ending very shortly. :)
Thanks to all who were, and remain, concerned. The procedure went considerably longer that we had hoped; due to complications from her original condition the Reversal had to be done with hand stitching instead of the traditional (and considerably faster) stapling. Her doctor gave her a good report, but warned that she will likely be very sore for several weeks to come.
