Allows for external handlers for the following bits of Firefox:

Textareas
Mail
Telnet/SSH
IRC
eDonkey
View Source
NNTP
FTP
Download
Send Link

This lets you take control for any of these away from Firefox and use your own handlers. For example, edit textareas with vim or pass downloads through to wget.

Though a version is listed in the canonical addons page at mozilla.org, more current versions can be had from http://mozex.mozdev.org/index.html.

For Firefox 2.0 and later, the development version is recommended.
