Steve Wozniak is the inventor of the Apple I and the Apple ][. Known as a world-class engineer, perhaps the finest microcomputer engineer ever, Steve founded Apple Computer with his friend Steve Jobs, working out of Jobs’ garage. When Jobs insisted that he would be Apple employee number 1, “Woz” put up no fight, taking the geek road and the high road at once, becoming Apple employee number 0.

Woz is considered to be one of the world’s most accessible millionaires, and freely gives back to the community in both money and time, founding libraries and teaching introductory computer classes to kids.

While I share neither Woz’s money, his genius, nor his knowledge of microprocessors, integrated circuits, or even electricity, he’s someone I consider a personal hero.
