Microsoft’s portable music player slash video game system. Predicted by many to be the “iPod-killer” all the Apple haters have been wanting. That the geniuses at Microsoft can pull that off, though, is an entirely different matter. I’m not holding my breath.

Its iPod killing feature is supposed to be its built-in wifi. It allows Zuners to send songs to each other (though the receipient can only play the song three times) and photos. In its initial version, though, you can’t sync over WiFi nor can you purchase items from the Zune Marketplace over wifi. It should be noted that, at least at the time the Zune was released, the iPod didn’t have any WiFi capabilities at all.

They like it, with some caveats. They didn’t have a real clean installation experience, either.
